Cafoma Engine Components Pvt. Ltd is a Greenfield venture setup in the year 2007 to produce fully finished automotive cylinder heads. It consists of a 12000 square
feet modern factory building and 4000 sq feet administrative
building in the SIPCOT Industrial Park at Irungatukottai which is
30 kms from Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Cafoma is ably managed by a team of professionals, headed by the Founder/Chairman, Mr. R. Palaniappan, a veteran in the industry.

Founder Chairman
Mr. R. Palaniappan, a mechanical engineer from Annamalai University had worked for HMT between 1955 and 1964. During this period he was involved in various projects both in India and abroad and was chiefly responsible for setting up the SPM division of HMT, Bangalore.
He then moved to Chennai to set up which was probably India’s first small scale industry to make machine tools – Productivity Elements P.Ltd ( PROTEL ).
He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of various companies including Chettinad Cements Ltd, SRP Tools Ltd., etc. He has also been a member of the Indian planning Commission’s Machine Tool Sub-committee, member of Bank of America’s Indian Advisory Board. Consultancy work for important bodies such as the United Nations (ESCAP-UNIDO), HMT etc was also carried out by him. He has also promoted group companies like Cafoma Autoparts P.Ltd and Pentagon Machines and Services P.Ltd.
Cafoma Autoparts P.Ltd manufacture fully finished crankshafts for OEM’s such as Simpson & Co Ltd, Greaves Cotton Ltd etc.
Pentagon Machines and Services P.Ltd manufacture Power Take off Gearboxes, Hydraulic Valves and Hydraulic Gear Pumps for export. It is managed by it’s CEO Mr. Natarajan.
